Ricky tends to like to create a little drama within the group…sometimes act against group interest for his own. Ricky has a weakness for cute women and will try to charm and I will almost always try to please them and gain their favor.

This comes from the fact that Ricky’s mom died when he was 12. His dad was a local alchemist/doctor of sorts in Tuam and this is where his initial interest in alchemy came from. His father was asked to come to a local Tavern/Inn (The Three Legged Mule) There was a “family” traveling through town and a young woman (20s) in the group was ill. His father did everything he could to save her but he could not and she died. The others began to blame his Dad for her death. Later his father would tell him when his drinking would put him in a more calm state that the woman was not sick by natural causes. She had strange marks on her neck and wrists. There could have been more but that was all he could see. The makings resembled an open eye, and a closed eye…

The pattern was repeated around the neck and wrists. He recognized the central symbol as an inverted symbol of the house of Azoth which was the foundation of alchemy teachings. He has never seen the symbol used in such a ritualistic manner but believed that these markings had something to do with the woman’s death. The “family,” enraged, sought vengeance. They bound Ricky’s dad, kept him at the Inn and went to his home. Ricky’s mother and younger sister were there….

Ricky’s father had told him to stay in that night. He said he felt something was “off” about the request to go to the tavern. Ricky was just a boy and would frequently leave to at night to explore the more questionable parts of the city. He always had an interest in the darker side of world. Three men from the “family” left the Inn, went to their home and took Ricky’s mother’s life. She would be found later by his father dead in their bedroom with this symbol carved into her body . They never found his sister.

When Ricky returned that night and for the next 7 years, his father blamed him for his mom’s death and presumed death of his sister. Ricky still believes his sister is alive. After that night, he committed himself to finding her. He researched as best he could the symbols as they were the only clue to finding those responsible. The open eye/closed eye was often used in rituals to symbolize a trade of spirits…The sacrifice of one life for the adding of another. The symbol on his mother was an ancient symbol of hell, death, fire, and torment. His father died when he was 19. It was at that time 3 years ago that he set out to find his sister or those responsible for what happened.
